Southeast Slammed By Snow and Ice!
The last 48 hours have brought some incredible winter weather to parts of the southeast. Many places in Kentucky saw over 8 inches of snow and some areas received over a foot! Meanwhile parts of Tennessee, North Georgia, and South Carolina were covered in some areas by up to 0.75″ of ice by this morning. With temperatures barely rising above freezing today and tomorrow it could be a few days before all the ice is melted. This coming weekend some of the same areas may be in for another blast of wintry precipitation and some of the coldest temperatures of the year! In Atlanta, thursday’s high temperature may not break 25. The cold will be felt as far south as Miami, FL, where morning low temperatures could be in the mid-to upper 30’s.
